Columbus, OH?

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a WINNER!!

SmartUSA was here in Columbus, OH this past weekend offering test drives. I drove the blue car. There were actually eight of them at one point, but I figured that would be a TOTAL give away, so I waited until there were only three to snap the shot. I should have thought about the parking space markings, I think that got folks into the right country right away. I figured there would be several posts before we even got into the right country! Oh, Well.

Congratulations Randy... Just out of curiosity, How did you figure it out?

I'm not sure what you mean by that, SoccerRef, as we have very similar markings here.

I assumed UK had similar markings.

But when adding the info of the RESERVED markings, drive on left and the "new" look of the cars, I thought US might be possible.

Do they require the third brake light in the UK?

Yes, you do, however tomd wrote...

paint on parking says "RESERVED",

Is the size of the plates US or European? Hard to tell with the photoshop work. Dang!

I'll go out on a limb and say YES it's US.

His post seems to indicate that to him at least, the street markings were the clue that got him to actually guess the US.

Of course, some close reading of your initial guess, and my response should have nailed the US... You weren't supposed to bring the US into the equation so early...

No, they don't require it (as in a legal requirement) but a great many cars have them.

 Wow, I finally won something! If you want to know how I found out, I wish I could've been more creative but, frankly, it was much simpler than that. The clue about where it was in relation to Chicago tipped me off that it might be in Ohio. Then I saw that SoccerRef was from Columbus.

I've got the perfect photo to start the next round, but it's on my home laptop and I'm at work. I'll post it in about 9 hours.

Welcome! But you'll have to wait until Randy1213 posts a picture (it's his turn) and that looks like it won't be for another 8 hours:cry:

Sorry for the delay, folks. This work thing really gets in the way of what's important.

Clue 1: This is not any kind of a special effect; it's just what you'd see if you were standing where I was standing.

You got it, Soccer Ref! I honestly thought that would have fooled for at least a few posts. Your pick.
