Woo! This lens is super sharp! I love it :D. Took a while to ship though...Ordered two weeks ago. Ah well, it's all here so no problem :D.

I also ordered a Canon backpack for lens, it's serving it's purpose very nicely right now :). Wow, this little red line around the lens sure makes me feel special! I can't wait to go out and use it...

Here's one photo just for kicks:

Congragulations. For the price, I don't think you'll get a better value for an 'L'.

Nice. One can seldom go wrong with getting that lens. Rather well priced and superbly performing.

I know of a bird shooter who posts on FM Forum.
He owns the 500 f/4 lens which is his main birding kit.
However, he has a blind in his backyard next to a bird feeder. From the blind he shoots with the 70-200 f/4. I have seen some of those shots....really excellent.;)

so where's the duck?

I just ordered my 70-200 today too so now it's just a waiting game. What I don't understand is all the references to ducks. Can someone please enlighten me?

Duck's are a POTN tradition...When you receive a new lens, it is tradition to go out and take photos of ducks with it.

Which is why I have a ducks page with my Canon 85mm f/1.8 :)

Oh...OK. Some of your "ducks" are Canadian Geese. :P I'll have to find some ducks then....let me think of where I can find some. :)

Congrats on the new lens...:D

I got mine a few weeks back and WOW. A big difference in the sharpness and color compared to my old Promaster.

I have had mine for a couple months now and love it. Color, contrast, and sharpness blow away anything else in my bag. I am more apt to take a few steps back and use the L then put something smaller and more suitable for the setting.....
