I like the A80 since it has the flip out LCD, better control options (Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority, Custom Functions, etc.), takes regular NiMH AA batteries, and costs the same as the Nikon 4300.

You can do more and grow more with the Canon than you can with the Nikon.

Good Luck and let us know what you chose? And post some photos!

I am very happy with my A80. I sold my old G2 and bought the A80 and was at first worried it would not be as good, but after taking a lot of photos with my new A80, I must say its excellent!

Have a look here for some sample shots:

I just wanted something more updated, something that was not old generation. I bought the A80 and will use that until I save some money and buy a 300D. That will be in a few months. :D I cant wait. Basically the money I sold my G2 for covered 90% the cost of the A80. So I was happy with that.

I realise now that my G2 was better in many regards in quality. But the A80 also has some better features. The only thing I did not know was that the A80 does not shoot in RAW mode. Bummer!!

Maybe I did a silly thing, but I am happy with the switch. I now have a less bulky camera, and can take better movie clips.

If you look on my forum, you will see the sample photos I took with my G2 and A80. The A80 does take great photos! :)
