I'd be curious to see how it looks like! I've seen 3200 and lower but can someone please post your photos at 6400 ISO? :D

WOW! Simply amazing.... I'm speechless!! Now if I can somehow find a way to justify one of these babies!!! I will probably prepare to be single if I get it though. lol. Gotta get it BEFORE I get married!!! I've heard all the horror stories!! ha ha ha.

Anyone think they will have a rebate for the MKIII in the Fall? ;)

Wow Tommy.... that is a boat load of noise in the sample you posted. Don't get me wrong, having it at your disposal is a good thing, and when you reduce the heck out of the image for web, it looks pretty good. But my expectations were that it wouldn't be quit that pronounced. Oh well... it is still coop to have the option need be. And thanks Tommy for making the original available.

How come these other two shots seem to have a lot lower noise at 6400 than Tommy's?

I have not run mine through noise reduction software. If you look in the thread Ilinked and check the fullsize Grizzy posted you can see it can be cleaned up very nicely.

Because they have been dramatically reduced in size. It is really easy to come up with near noiseless images from just about any camera when you reduce it for screen presentations. Full size like Tommy's is the only really way to tell. Now there is nothing wrong with those images, and most would print up pretty nice probably up to 5x7... but above that there are questions. But it seems fewer people actually print, so this could all be a moot issue.

Check out some of 'GMEN' posts in the sports forum, he always churns out absolutely top quality work and he regularly finds himself at 6400 so there's usually 1 or 2 shots in his threads......

Here's 3 of his threads that have had at least one iso 6400 shot in them:

https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=430856

https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=423168

I also have a couple of test shots at 6400 that i took in the very short period of time i had mine...... i'll post up some later, nothin too exciting though.....
