These first four shots are with the digiscope and a 36mm Kenko tube. The last 3 are with the Bigma.

Almost the same pose, but he turned his head just slightly, and you can see what just a few degrees makes in the reflection of his gorget feathers.

Thanks Howzit. I think this species is the only one we have in this area. They are hard to shoot on a rainy ass day, which we get a lot of here. Wait til the light shines. ;)

Thanks Adi, Adam and Mickey.

Mickey, check out this thread. There's several pages to it, but there is some good info and links with pics in it. :)

Thanks Bill. What I really need now is some sunlight. This shooting at 1/200s is not good for IQ and it's just a little far for flash. Maybe I'll get the beamer out. :)

Lovely shots Mitch.

It must be getting popular then, it was a hundred dollars cheaper late last year. It has it's uses, but requires a lot of work or expensive gear to get the full potential out of it.

Wayne, the scope has a much bigger objective lens. The fixed f/stop is 7.5, but somehow the scope does something nice to an image. I can't quite put my finger on it, but they are subtly different. And I use ISO 160. The Bigma shots are at ISO 320. It's just an experiment, rainy day and all that. :)

Hmmm, I wonder if the scope being bigger, plus having the Kenko tube on, plus the length of the adapter, [maybe 100mm longer than the telescope eyepiece would be], has something to do with the angle the light hits the sensor? That would explain a lot.
