Before I actually do this, does anyone else have a bad time with loading pages here over the last couple of days??

I don't think it is your ISP. Try other sites and see if they are as slow.
I am moving this to Forum Talk.

I've noticed it too. Lots of "server is busy at the moment" messages, and slow loading.

I'm sure Pekka is working on it. In the meantime, I think we should ease the congestion by limiting access to only those members with at least 8,982 posts.

And Freddy CR.
And Kathy P.
Ok, Schmoelzel too.

Ok, after review, I have determined that my previous proposal was way wrong.

After all, it's those babbling, chatting, high-post-count people that are causing this problem to begin with.

So we should allow access to only those with less than 10,000 posts.
... at least for the next week or so, at which point I'll have that many.

So I guess your title really does fit. ;)

I have never questioned its validity. After all, it's a direct quote.

Pekka, it seems to me that slowdowns are perhaps around 2pm onward (PDT) when Western Europe users are at home and posting, and now about 8pm PDT when USA is active.

There are times when selecting CP or a topic for new messages returns the 'too busy' response, and only a few seconds later the response is fine.

Say the word and I will be part of an active 'need money for POTN server capacity' message!

Same thing here. It's been very slow at times on Thursday and Friday. My browser would just sit there...or I'll get the Server Busy message.

Just FYI...hope you sort things out!

Even with the temporary slowness, I can't get enough of this place!

Keep up the great work!!!
