taken this AM along the North Jetty of the Siuslaw River---with the 20D and 100-400mm used with the Tamron 1.4x converter----Caspian or Royal or?

With the bright coloring of the beak definitely looks like a Caspian. They are also a good deal larger than a Royal but that's hard to judge without a side by side. Nice shots.
