Focusing customizable? Mark II

Is it true that you have greater control over the focusing with the Mark II? Meaning, the SIZE of the focusing area/squares/points are customizable?

The focus square on the 10D feels like it's the size of a football field when trying to focusing on something small, like a bird. If that's tweakable on the Mark II, I might be compelled to order one.

For those who have the new camera - what do you think about the focusing as compared to the 10D?

The focus on the Mark II is extremely fast and precise. You have many options for focus selection.
I would advise going to the canon support site and reading through the manual.

Good Idea.. for this downloading the manual may be your best bet for sure...

The focus "sqaures" are much smaller and denesly packed (the 45 points are in an area SMALLER than the extreme width of the 10D's 7 points)

You can with custom functions select the number of AF points that are availble to you when you scroll through them (ie .. instead of scrolling through 45 points to go from the left to right hand side.... you can make only eleven evenly spaced pints selectable.)

You can also use the center point with "point expansion" .. so you start with a single tiny point in the middle .. but as you zoom out the center posint becomes an ceter area of five points.. then evetually the center 13 (I think its thirteen)
