Just found out there is a replacement for FVU.. There is a Windows and a Mac version.. Apologies if this has been posted already..

EOS Viewer Utility (EVU) downloads JPEG and RAW files from EOS digital SLRs, can convert RAW images and allows the modification of camera settings. EVU will NOT convert RAW images from PowerShot cameras.

No one else noticed this, or no one uses FVU?

EVU is faster, it's nice. Has more DSLR specific things, better interface.

There is one thing I really don't like about it, though. You can only view the images in two modes, "fit in screen" or "100%". :(

And I miss the ability to view the images in small, middle or large sizes like you can with FVU. But EVU definitely is faster than FVU when making setting adjustments and converting from RAW.

However, I'm not sure what you mean by "more DSLR specific things". The settings in EVU is the same as the ones in FVU.

EVU is faster and Canon has improved the AUTO white balance feature. I find that I get the best colors by assigning AdobeRGB to the RAW images and then converting to working space in PS CS.

Err, I think that's the documentation for the EVU. The actual install file is downloaded from here:

For Windows:
http://www.powershot.com …/customer/evu_win_10.html (external link)

And Mac (depending on the OS):
http://www.powershot.com …customer/evu_osx_101.html (external link)
or
http://www.powershot.com …customer/evu_os9_101.html (external link)

It's an 'upgrade', so you have to have FVU installed to install EVU.
