Pretty poor picture but the best I can guess on this one is kingfisher, but it's very small...any help with ID appreciated.

Jun 02, 2007 13:03 | #2 Looks like a belted kingfisher. We have a lot of them here in Florida. I can't tell if it's a male or female, however. The females usually have a little more brown on their bodies and the male has a substantial crest. Here, you see them on wires everywhere. My Gear: 6D, 7D, EOS-M w EF-M 22 f2 STM and EF-M 18-55 f3.5-5.6 IS STM, 17-40L f4, 24-70L f2.8, 100 f2.8 non-IS macro, 70-200L f/4 IS, 400L f5.6,, Canon 1.4x II TC, Canon Speedlite 430 EX II, Better Beamer. Manfrotto carbon fiber tripod, 2 monopods, Manfrotto ballhead and pistol grip tripod heads.

Jun 02, 2007 17:44 | #5 Hey the Flycatcher thought got me looking and we do have "Olive-sided Flycatchers" in CO, but this doesn't quite match, but I found a Western Wood-PeWee and is says they hang out in the tops of dead trees or dead branches near water and that fits the habitat exactly.
