This is my friend scott lying in the grass just before we cut his dreads.
Taken with a Canon EOS 400D and Kit Lens

I don't care for the crop and his hair blends in with the ground, what does the color version look like?

it hasnt been cropped,just resized and i dont have the colour version as im on my laptop.

Im still new to everything.

It's hard to C&C this picture because I can't tell what your motivation was. If you wanted an artistic, outside the box kinda pic, yours works. If this was supposed to be a serious, well formed and composed shot, then it doesn't. I actually quite like it the way it is.

I agree about the hair....it blends in too well with the BG. You may be able to get more seperation if you use the channel mixer to do your B/W conversion and play wth the sliders.
