Help With ID - Shorebird

I thought it was a Willet but the tail seems too short.

Nice looking bird Shirley. I can't help with the ID cause we don't have a shore within a thousand miles. :)

Maybe it's a Short Tailed Willet? :D

Looked like a Common Snipe to me...but after looking at the bird book I bet it is a snipe of some sort, maybe a "least" or a "spotted"...

Here is one of a common snipe (with a striped head, not like yours)....

Could also be a yellow legs, but cant see them in your picture...

I'm not p[ositive either, but I'd agree with a Willet. The body seems to fit it more than a lesser yellow legs. You can see a bit of the legs mixed with the grass and they don't seem yellowish either.

Looks like a breeding plumage willet to me too.
