Nice work mate.

I think the first could have worked better in portrait, as you have cut off IMO a little too much of the right hand girl.

I like two, but perhaps a little dark, maybe some tweaking in curves.

Three is great, but maybe a little close? A little more air would have been nice. Some curves treatment could brighten it up a little too.

Well done though.

Rob

Thanks!

On the first one, I was actually forced to take the shot that way since the ceiling, right wall (the girl in white's side) are all red. the wall to my left (picture left) was white marble. There were a lot of people behind me so I could not get the right angle to bounce the light off the white wall to get a clean shot. so I just framed it as best I can while keeping an eye where my flash was going to hit :D

On two, yes you are definitely right. I will work on that!

Last was also induced by the environment. I had people pushing against me and could not get a clean shot without someone jumping in front. But I will definitely do some more tweaking to get them brighter. Thanks!

Eh, you're a local guy! Been to Plush on plenty of occasions, have some friends that used to play there regularly. Best show was seeing Buchanan play full band. You couldn't hardly sit down! Cheers

Very nice expression on #1.
Pity the right girl is covered by the mic in #2.
#3 is nice and simple.
All seem a bit on the dark side...

Thanks!

It was a hard shoot mainly because of the lighting. Ive never been there so I couldnt plan ahead how to set up. But now that I have some data I can bring some flash diffusers and crank up the FE to maybe 1 1/3 stop higher (the shots were actually shot with 2/3 FE stops higher @ ISO 200 as they were bounced from the left wall).

what really frustrates me is the red ceiling. i wish i had brought a white piece of foam board and set it up on the table nearest the stage on the right side (hidden from view) so i could bounce the flash there.

:D

Thanks! That was my first time there. It was really cool, we packed the floor and I think I blinded some people since I was bouncing the flash over them.
below are a couple, one shot w/o flash, just the IS on the lens.
