Hi everyone, just had an engagement session today. Here are some of my favorite photos from it. I would like your feedback on them. This was my first session with my new EFS 17-55. Such a sweet lens!!! The IS really works nice.

Thanks, M

p.s. I was really happy with the way #1 turned out. I didnt want to bother the gentleman for the photo...but he was more than willing to help out. Took him a few minutes to relight his pipe though before we started :)

I really like the composition in 1 and I love the color in 2 but wish you got their feet in the picture. :) Very nice.

cute shots, well done. hmm cc huh? id say number 4 she looks mad. I'd lighten her up a bit and should work out nicely. and number 5 is a bit grainy. so hit with a gaussian blur a bit and it should come out perfect.

great shots!! they will love em.

Thanks for the feedback, will give the gaussian blur a try. I didnt want it too grainy...but the lighting wasn't very good in the church.

Some really nice shots and interesting compositions there. Well done!

The technique used in No. 4 produces one of my favourite styles of shots. She just looks too serious for an engagement. I'd like to see the expression she has in No. 6 on her face in No. 4. Perhaps you can use the liquify command in Photoshop to curl her lips up into a Mona Lisa smile?

I took a couple different angles of this, but I think the full front version turned out the best. Here are the other 2, one has their feet (you might like that one better) :). I did like the "feet" one because I got the railway sign in there too...kind of established the scene better.

I like #1 and the subsequent railroad ones particularly the one with the railroad sign, though some of the highlights look a little blown in the latter.
#2 love the red.
#3 The barn doors are dramatic, but the couple look miserable in both shots.
#4 Pissed off
#5 A tad grainy, but obscures their grumpy faces.
#6 She looks a little out of focus...but they do almost look happy!

Good effort on your part............original composition.
Wish they had dressed a little less frumpy too!!!!

I ove all the shots here! Yes, number is awesome! I love the red (very dramatic).
I love the size of # 3....
I definitely enjoy # 4.... It's something about blurry background that makes me smile!

Great job!
