Shooting B&W in Raw

Ok so I did some searching through the forums but couldnt find anything specific about this issue.

My girlfriend is a hard core Film/B&W photographer (while I'm a color/digital). She recently purchased an Xti as a backup camera for our jobs as well as for traveling. When she sets her camera to Raw then changes her picture style to B&W they still come out in color when they are imported in Lightroom. But now shes running into the "issue" of actually liking color yet being distracted by it and feels like shes not capturing/seeing what she saw through viewfinder.

I suggested she immediately convert to grayscale via Lightroom before looking at her pics but shes just annoyed that on the LCD it appears in B&W but not in Lightroom. (And according to her it B&W in her mind as well )

Not a major issue but I'm curious if other experienced or if someone has some advice about this.

During Import in LR set the preset to do your B&W conversion. Then she will never see the color version unless she resorts back to as shot.

Thanks I'll have her try that out.

Using the B/W picture style doesn't change the viewfinder. So she is seeing color through the viewfinder.
