These were taken at HiFi Bar in Melbourne, the first of 2 nights that Clutch played there on their Australian tour. Seriously one of the best bands I have seen in a long long time. All shots from the Saturday night taken with a 50mm f1.4 lens.

C&C welcome - Enjoy!

You should be shot for getting the PRS headstock out of focus in 3. ;-)a
Other than that - great pics.

What was the lighting like?

The lighting was pretty challenging - also the place was absolutely chock a block full of people and no photo pit with a crowd going absolutely nuts.

Hey Richard - am I reading this right that you've got yourself a 1D MkII N now?

I don't suppose you're planning on selling the 20D anytime soon..? :)

I think it is motion blur! Pretty harsh light. Not attract guys ... good thing they are good, eh?

They're from really close to where I live. Great band.

My village called. I was told that they missed me.

I like #3 and 4.
Did you shoot RAW? Some look quite overexposed. Pull back exposure a bit.

I like the set overall, but here is a few crits from me (somewhat echoing Rene on the exposure):

1. Nice, but a little bright on his arms.
2. Same again.
3. Same again.
4. This is a strange crop for me.
5 & 6. These look a little soft, but could just be razor thin DOF.
7. Watch those highlights again.
8. Love it.

Thanks for the feedback.

I was aware of the highlights and yes I did shoot RAW - you should have seen what they looked like before I worked some photoshop magic on them! It was very tricky lighting on the Saturday - I probably should have jacked up the EC a bit more.
