Do you guys use UV filters with your UWA? I just got my Toki and am wondering if a UV filter is needed/possible. I have read and heard that filters on UWA are not ideal as you might get some serious vingetting. I dunno how much truth is to that so that's why I am looking for some feedback...

Does a reg UV work, or does it have to be a slim one? (I'm only buying B+W for what it's worth)

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ollie

On the other side, I found this where is says 'no vingetting'

When I had the Toke 12-24, I used a regular thickness UV filter without any vignetting. A regular thickness polarizer will vignette though on the Toke.

As for UV filters doing anything in particular, some use it to protect the front element against things hitting it but it serves no other function than that. You don't need it, but if you feel more comfortable using it to protect the front element a decent Multicoated one should be fine.

Awesome. Thank you very much for the response. I use UV filters on all of my other lenses. This is my first UWA and was not quiet sure if it will work correctly or not. I was told that you would be better off without a filter on the UWA to avoid vignetting.

Great to know. I will go ahead and get one.

Many thx, Ollie
