I did a search but did not find anything on this.

I placed an order with B&H (via their website) on Sunday morning (June 3) for a Canon 30D body, a lens and assorted accessories. The order totaled almost $1,800. All of the items were listed as "in stock."

As of 5pm today (Tuesday June 5) my order is still listed as "processing." I called earlier today and was told the order was scheduled to ship today, but I have not gotten any notice that it actually has shipped.

Is this slow processing typical for B&H? I'm used to a lot of other places where your order ships the same day or at the latest the next day.

As you can imagine, I'm really anxious to get my hands on my new toy!

Try ordering from Adorama. You will love B&H ship times after that. Normally B&H ships very fast. I wouldn't stress about it.

I ordered a Tamrac case from them and received an email w/ tracking # the next day. This was my first order w/ them though. Hopefully you'll receive your confirm. soon. :)

Two things. First, they're on the East Coast and cut-off times for UPS are much later than the West or Midwest so the tracking number still may be emailed tonight. Two, if your order was to be shipped via regular UPS service, not overnight or 2nd day, it won't be processed and shipped as quickly.

Gear: Kodak Brownie and homemade pin-hole cameras. Burlap sack for a bag.

I think that might be a fluke. I placed my first order with them last Saturday (the 2nd) on the recommendation of practically everyone here. It was shipped yesterday and is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Seems fairly standard to me.

I am in Canada and my order was officially accepted by B&H on Monday June 4/07. This morning, I received a call from UPS who indicated there was a slight delay but I would receive my package (a rather large one I may add) tomorrow morning, June 7/07. Pretty darn good shipping time including delays. By the way, I used UPS Expedited for around 69.00USD uncluding brokerage fee.

For me, it takes about 24 hours in a working day for them to process my order and ship it. I don't remember them shipping it in the same day no matter how early I order it.
I find Beachcamera to be the fastest in shipping things out.

ya most of the time when it is placed on the weekend, it will take 1-2 days to process, and as u said the CC verification takes a lil part of that, but normally i have my item 4 days after it is placed.. always happy w/ b&h

As a follow up, I received my order today at noon. I would say that is a pretty good delivery service.
