HP Photosmart Pro B9180 Printer - Graphics Professional version

V

HP Photosmart Pro B9180 Photo Printer

Gretag Macbeth Eye One Colorimiter. - A device which attaches to your screen and also to your USB port which allows you to run a piece of software which calibrates your screen to show true colours, helps with editing photos and making sure you get perfect prints.

Can someone please let me know is this the difference between the 2 models, and is the difference worth over £100-00
Though at misco the difference is only £75-00 +vat for me so is the extra worth £75-00

And what the so called difference does for you?????

Thanks

I use PS anyhow on an Imac and PC

I just replied to the same thread over at photo-i - where you have quite a lot more replies.

gp includes an HP branded Eye One Display 2 - probably the best screen calibration setup in the marketplace today. If you don't have one, it's well worth having, particularly when trying to get the very best out of a fairly high end printer like the B9180.

I have a B9180 - and the only reason I didn't buy the gp version is that I already had the comparable (but now discontinued, since X-Rite, who owned Monaco and who more recently took over GretagMacbeth had two screen calibration products and were pretty much bound to discontinue one) Monaco OPTIX XR Pro.

David, I Am very interested in this printer, if you do not mind me asking, how do you go about buying paper and ink cartridges etc.

The one thing that concerns me is availability of good suppliers selling at a discount for some bulk orders etc. I have not just found anyone yet that does.

Almost all the supplies I've used - and my B9180 printer - have come from LambdaTek (external link). They're the cheapest - or very nearly the cheapest - across the entire range of consumables in my experience.

If you can't find what you're after, search by HP part number. You can search on partial part numbers as well - if you search for C941, you'll get the eight B9180 ink cartridges (and a print head for a Z3100, which you can ignore).
