Hi,

Took some product shots yesterday in our Showroom. Set Whitebalance to Flash, used my 550ex in a room with flouresent lights. Shot in RAW.

Got the following image. The background that the garment is on is white.

What would be the best techinque to make the background white and the garment orange?

I've tried, a new adjustment layer, pointed the white dropper to the background so it was a very white layer. Then cut the garment out so the orange shines through!!!!

Was this a good or bad way?

Thanks in advance,
Carl.

Works here but I am on the works network so my server is local to me! Might have to try this later on at home.

Basically, the background has an orange tinge (sp/word?) instead of being white. I was lazy and didn't photo my whibal cards before starting :(

I'll see if I can fix and post back.

Regards,
Carl.

The link worked for me. As for fixing the file I would have to try a few things at home.

Since you shot RAW why not use the White Balance eyedropper and click on the background. That is where I would start.

Below is a down & dirty 1 minute fix.

using PS

- used a Hue/Saturation layer to bump up the orange abit on the jumper

- used color replacer tool and changed the background from the original to white

- using a mask I masked out the jumper to reveal my new orange jumper

That's good, will have a play with those options.

Carl.
