No, no pictures of the boats here. But guess what lens is Alinghi using to study the tactics of Team New Zealand...

I hope they'll make honor to this beautiful lens by winning the cup ;-)a

I don't know why, I'm sure I'll have ten posts saying how much TNZ is better and should win... :lol:

Looks like the 100-400L lens which I'm thinking of buying. If I'm wrong, hey, I'm new. :)

GO KIWI GO!
[SIZE=2]

Fancy a land locked country holding the Americas Cup, disgraceful!
We will bring it back home, after all it took a Kiwi crew in a Kiwi designed boat and Swiss money to take it away from NZ, now we have the Kiwi Crew in the Kiwi boat, with Arab money to bring it back. :)

Nice lens though.

So long and thanks for all the flash

as much as i wanted bmw to win, i really hope etnz wins it now. get the racing out of valencia. i have friends there right now and they say of all the cups they've attended, this one is dismal.

the kiwis want to do the cup right by reinstating some long lost, but honourable rules.

i think the protocol should have stated that you host in your country, no exceptions. it would have been the first defence on a lake.

In P class boats? Or maybe Hobby cats :lol:

I don't have a problem with the Swiss useing Italy to host the cup. Its actualy quite generous of them as Italy will bank Millions of it.
You should see the improvements hosting the cup have made to the Waterfront here in Auckland, and the awareness it generated overseas.
We are still making money off it, 3 years after losing it.

too bad it's spain hosting right now, not italy. and since boats are built for every event... you simply build a boat that meets the needs and conditions of the venue... like they already do. no reason why they can't change the ACC box rule to accomodate that. they are already on version 5 after all. so if that means going to a 40 ft planing hull boat for a lake, so be it.

spain pretty much got the hosting rights because bertarelli's wife has massive tourism interests in valencia. it's suspected that's part of why russell couts left the program. valencia simply doesn't have the proper conditions for the formula 1 of sailboat racing.
