But how many of them are Yauchties?
We might only have 4 million odd people here, but we all live less than hours drive from the sea. :)

So long and thanks for all the flash

we just don't have the financial backing to use said talent.

You know it's not like NZ is a rich country. I am sure that there is someone in your fair country willing to pull together a plan on trying for the cup. When NZ first won the cup it's not it was funded by one person. sponsorship is the name of the game.

We tried to fund it ourselves once, we lost to a land locked country with more money......

This year the bulk of the funding is coming from a sponsor based in another country, although we do have strong ties with a UAE.

Some very good sailing, some very bad luck for the Kiwis.

Congrats Alinghi, see you next time (maybe).

:(

There will be a next time!
And by the sounds of it Alinghi won't have the Kiwi crew to spend Ernesto's money and sail his boat.

Its a shame we lost but I honestly... I wasn't surprised.

There were some good races this year and to hear we lost the last race by only a second really shows you how good each team is.

I have no doubts in my mind that we will be facing alinghi at the next americas cup where ever it is.

Yes, it was a pretty crazy race... I think a 5-4 final score would have better shown the qualities of each team. Both deserved to win!

Let's wait a few years and fight again (peacefully, only on water ;-)a ) for it!
