This was my first show (easy to say since Ive only shot 3 so far) where I noticed the limits of my Sigma 70-200. There was a row of colored lights facing stage front from the back. I have never seen more lens flare on an image before (was actually shocked to find that a UV filter reduced the flare as i tried everything to keep it down to a minimum). Scrapped at least 2/3 of the shots I took.

Time to get that 2.8 IS ive been wanting :P

Nice captures... I'd say, you need to number each picture, right there on top of each one, so we can comment on them individually... If you only scrapped 2/3 of them, that's not so bad...

They haven't lost any weight, I see. Saw them live a few years ago in Germany. Cool band. A buddy of mine produced one of their albums about that time as well.

As for scrapping 2/3 of the pictures taken. Was that all you scrapped? If so you did really well. I normally toss way more than that.

Oh, and nice capture of the PRS guitar. (Yes, I am a PRS fan.)

However - as johnstoy said - please number each image. It helps.

Yeah, numbers help alot.

#3 could probably benefit with a little black lift, but nice overall.

I like #2 and 4.
I agree, scrapping 2/3 is quite conservative IMO. Pity it is because of equipment failure however.
I think an UV filter *lessening* flare would be a first time ever.
Did you use a hood?

"Did you use a hood?"
Yeah I did. Didn't seem to help really.

That is one of the images WITHOUT the uv filter (still w/ hood).

Oh, and when i say 2/3, thats just scrapped because of flare. I scrapped more than that for other reasons.

Thanks for your comments :)

I was stage manager when they played around here about 4 years ago. They were on a budget obviously since their t-shirt had iron on decals with their logo. :) It looks like 2 of them put on some weight.
