Suzy, actually it was raining at the time I took the shot, and I stood there on the street with a drenched raincoat. I'm just glad that the 24-70 is weatherproof Though I held the camera inside my jacket, napoleon style, it still got wet whenever I took it out. I have no idea who Deek is, I wonder if it is a misspelled name or profanity

Crissa, yes, looking at the photo, the dude above the 'K' in Deek didn't seem very happy. He even has a strange hand gesture if you look closely enough. Good idea about the wide angle and the letterbox frame, I do have a series of photos that I plan to merge into a panorama when I have the time.

Take 5 steps to your left. There's the shot for me. This one looks like the outside of the scene. Does that make sense?

I like the way the color plays out...how gray the outside is due to the whether, and how "inviting" the inside is with the warm lights and the people in there.

I keep coming back to this picture for another look.

Must ask why "BottomBracket" are you a cyclist?

My kinda shot and my kinda place to drop by. When I been to NYC I like to hang out in these kinda places and watch the world go by. I should take my camera one of these times I also agree on the 5 steps to the left composition. Superb PP once again. I would like the time, motivation and patience to learn that but I don't have it.

Nick, thanks, that exactly what I was going for! It was how I felt when I took the photo, as I was standing in the rain getting drenched, thinking how wonderful it would be to be sipping a hot cup of coffee, the warmth seeping onto my hands. Thanks!

Thanks Ken! Yes I love bicycles I suppose you are too, since you know what a bottombracket is

I was a long time ago. But have a daughter who is a very keen cyclist, was road racing but now riding MTB. She has just been to Italy on cycling holiday and to watch the Giro on 1 or 2 days, waiting for the holiday report. She has an EOS film camera (was mine) but not sure if it went on holidays, as they took bikes (Giant) with them. Is New York bike user friendly?

Cool!It may not seem so, but NYC is actually bike-friendly. One can travel long distances here with bimodal transportation- that is, bike+subway. One has to be used to riding with traffic though, so street smarts are de rigeur.
