I do both. I prefer to print my photos at a photo lab. However, when the kids and grandkids come over for the day and I get a few nice shots, I really like to be able to print them and send them home with a few.

I always print at labs - partially because I'm good friends with one of the better labs' around here's manager, partly because I don't have a good printer and partly because I haven't ever owned a printer that approached lab quality...

However... once I finish my lens collection I'd seriously consider getting an expensive A3 printer - if it did lab quality I'd be prepared to pay quite a bit for one.
