I can't find the sample images for this lens.
I was bored tonight so I went to a store and take some in store shots.

Not a real world sample, but i hope it can help.

At 29mm, f4.5, 1/80s(I'm not sure if this is wide open), ISO200

100% crop

At 250mm, f/6.3, 1/100.. ISO400 Maybe not a good example, but there is not enough light in the store.

at 250mm I think the speed is not enough, there should be a hand shake,

all taken with store's Canon 30D

Please add more pics for the archive!

XTi, EF-S 17-55 f/2.8IS, 30mm f/1.4EX, Domke F-2, Contax T2, Olympus OM2 w/ 50mm, 24mm

Interesting to see that the 400mm f/5.6 can be purchased in USA for 40% less than the price in the Japanese store window. Compared to other shops in Japan, how do those prices in the photos compare?

The focal range is enticing, but I think the Sigma 18-200 with OS is the much more appealing bet here with these "slow superzooms", especially when it comes to indoor, lower light shooting like these store shots. It will be good to see the reviews on both though as they come out.

this store is about 10% higher than normal, because they work with a points system. You got 10% of the price to points when you purchase.
For new lens, I think other store it's about right, 10-15% lower than this store.

But my local store have the displayed unit, for 125,000, around $1,025

The $1025 is much more in line with NYC price!

I think this lens turned to be a decent performer for a superzoom.

Anybody else have this lense yet?

To OP -

How do you find the AF speed? Especially in indoor lighting, such as the store you tried out the lens.

I feel it's about the same as sigma 18-200 OS, which I tried there too. not as fast as USM, but you can see the AF is pretty spot on. I think it is about the same as my sigma 18-50EX on 400D. I did not have to press the shutter a couple of times to get the Focus spot with canon 30D. I did not try with 400D (I'll try this weekend, it will be raining in Tokyo, not a good weather for photo hunting).

The only thing was the 30D was put -1/3 EC, and I did not know how to change it. They set the menus in Japanese, and I am not familiar with 30D buttons.

I forgot if the AF was loud or not, or maybe because i did not notice it, it is decently quiet.

I am waiting for your reviews as well Lightrules.
I read your lens review on the sigma 30mm f/1.4EX, it helped a lot. Thanks!
As I just started photography, I still do not know a lot about the CA, barrel etc and how to test it.

Ok, these are on here somewhere else, but I figure I can stick 'em here too. I really dont remember what settings were used. This was pretty soon after I got the thing and wanted to test it out.

LOL Duck, I just realized how funny that is.

Tamron A018 is designed to eliminate the need for consumers to carry and change a multitude of lenses for producing close-up shots and long telephoto shots. Tamron camera lens for Canon is made to be a single lens for use around the home, or even for travel. It could also be used to capture wide open landscapes or sporting events. This 18 - 250 mm f/3.5-6.3 lens works with SLR digital cameras..........
