Hi everyone:

Quick question regarding wired / wireless flash solutions. I'm learning much thanks to those on this forum and to Stobist, and was wondering about the following:

I currently have a 430EX, and am thinking about getting a 580EX to use the master / slave capabiliites built into these flashes. If I attached the 580 to my 20D via a PC cord, would it then still be able to remotely trigger a 430 in slave mode? ETTL wouldn't be an option, but can it at least tell the 430 when to fire?

I'd love some PocketWizards, but they aren't in the budget right now, and I figure this might be a way to use multiple strobes both off camera.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Scott

I use a 20D with a Sigma 24-70 or a Sigma 70-200 or a Tamron 18-200 or a Nifty and from time to time a 430EX

Yes, it would. See this thread for more details, replacing the word "PW" with "PC cord" to suit your situation. :)
