Last month we had a lot of rain, and the lakes and rivers were at very high levels. I didn't expect to find any herons on the banks, since the banks were under water, but this GBH found a log to share with Mr. Turtle. After 10-15 minutes of just standing there on one leg, it took off for the middle of the river and speared a fish. After flying back to the log, it tried for several minutes to manipulate the fish down its throat, but eventually the fish was dropped and lost.:cry:

Thank you all for the comments. This lens does a great job wide open, but shutting it down to f/8.0 really makes it sharp.
