Just wondering if anyone has any samples with this Ultra ULTRA wide angle lens on a 1D Series camera. I am trying to determine if a Sigma 12-24 might be better on my new 1D MKII then a 10-22 efs on my 20D.

Anyone have any pictures of the Sigma 12-24 on a 1D series, any 1D?

12mm on a 1.3 crop would be have a FOV of a 15.6mm in a 35mm film format. A 10mm on a 1.6 crop would yield a FOV of a 16mm on a 35mm film format.

So I'd say it's about equal.

The Sigma on a 1D Mark II is slightly wider, but the 10-22 on a 30D is going to give you better image quality. The Sigma isn't bad, but the 10-22 is awesome.
And the Sigma flares like none other.

What I really miss is being able slap on the old 77mm filter. I'm not talking about the UV, although I will use it when it's raining, but the ND filters for moving water and the circular polarizer.

Ah ok. Looks like I will keep the 10-22 efs. Well unless I get a 5D next month, then its out the door and the 16-35 L MKI is on its way.

MKII sucks for the one reason it does not take 77mm filters. :(

Yep, that, and cost, are the main reasons why I picked up a MkI. It's just so much easier to take one set of filters out into the field.
