Want to give CS3 a try. I have CS2 already installed. I would normally expect to uninstall a version of software before installing the later version of the software. However is it possible to install CS3 without uninstalling CS2 and then be able to uninstall the CS3 without "hurting" the CS2 install?

If so I could do
- INSTALL CS3
- try it
- UNINSTALL CS3

instead of
- UNINSTALL CS2
- INSTALL CS3
- try it
- UNINSTALL CS3
- INSTALL CS2

cheers
Ali

Depends if you buy upgrade or new I guess..

But I assmue so long as you set a new directory you could have both. I don't own either so can't say for sure.

I upgraded from CS2 to CS3. You can have both on your machine at the same time, along with any other versions of PS you may have. I had PS7, CS2 and CS3 installed at the same time but have since uninstalled PS7 and CS2.

So the answer is yes. :)

You can either uninstall the old version first, or have two versions installed at once - though if you uninstall a version that uses activation, I suggest you deactivate it first.

If you install a CS3 upgrade after deactivating and deinstalling the qualifying product, you're prompted for the title and serial number of the qualifying product after you type in your upgrade serial number. Make sure you have the full serial number of the qualifying product - the number on the splash screen omits the last four digits.

Good info, I wasn't intending to activate the CS3 yet, just wanted to try it out and see what it was like. At the end of the prcoess I will be uninstalling CS3.
