This is my first attempt at shooting flowers, or anything for that matter. Still learning and i would appreciate some C&C. Both shots are taken with 300D and 85mm 1.8.

Nice first attempt. The Rose seems a littl out of kilter. I think it is probably the angle at which you took the shot. It kind of stymied me trying to figure out where the front would be. The Lily looks better to me. The color on both look very saturated. Is that natural or did you enhance in post-processing? If PP, you might want to back off a bit.

But keep shooting and keep posting.

We've got to stimulate some interest in flowers on this board. Flowers just don't seem to generate any comments. :(

Thanks for the quick comment. Yes i did do some adjustments in Light Room but nothing to drastic. Ill back off on the saturation for sure. i get carried away sometimes but i definately agree.

Yes much more subtle. You will want to enhance the color but be careful not to oversaturate.

I know a person who likes to oversaturate everything because she says it given the image a painted postcard look. To me it just looks scary. But it is her image and her vision. Can't argue with that.

I'm pretty much a beginner so I can't comment on anything technical, but they look very sharp to me:D Lilies have to be my favorite flower and that one is just lovely. Up here in the north we have a bit of a wait yet :(
Keep posting, I enjoyed looking at your work.

I like version 2 (the original) of the rose so much better. I think you might have increased the luminance or vibrance a bit too much in LR the first time.

I actually like what you did w/ the Lily in the first post, although it's pretty in it's original fashion too!
