Epson 1400 vs. HP 8250

I now have an HP 8250, that I can't get the HP drivers/profiles to load. Probably an HP problem, their support people are terrible.

Anyway I am thinking about going to the new R1400. Assume the R1400 will produce much better images??? Anyone made a comparison, and how much better is the R1400?
