I've been using RAW as much as possible lately and decoding it in PSCS, and it's working really well. I also have the Auto White Balance selected on my 10D which, in my mind, was something that would be preset if I ever needed to go switch back to jpegs for some reason.

Here's my question: Does having the camera set on AWB - or any white balance setting - affect the RAW file?

No, the white balance can be adjusted as you like with the raw file.
