I'm the third poster to put shots up from the air show so I've tried to not clone the others. I think we all got the same shot of the Raptor going full burn.

Wow...those are WAY over sharpened. Everything else looks fine exposure wise.

Hmm, scaled down to 800 these look pretty over sharpened. If I get time later I may just post shrunk version of the originals instead.

Wow...those are WAY over sharpened. I am not going to say anything else...

Funny, we both had the same thought at the same time. The full size version look fine. Wonder if I had something funny set when I batch shrank them.

I don't think it's over sharpened as much as what ever you used to scale the images down did a bad job. The sharp edges are jaggy. But, aside from that I really like the shots, especially the ground one (#2). Did the Raptor fly with the other 2???? Where was I for this haha....I wish I would have had a wide lens like you but I didn't want to carry stuff around. Did you happen to get a shot of the pyro fire stuff on the ground? I'm interested to see others' shots of that.

Yeap, the Raptor flew with the Eagle and Mustang in the heritage flight. He did not yesterday due to a technical problem.

I love taking a wide lens to events like this. Last year I took a 17-40, this year I had a 10-20 and it was a lot of fun. I've got a LowePro offtrail 2 which makes swapping lenses really easy.

Got some nice ones of my kids and the exhibit aircraft with the 10-20. I missed the pyro this year as my wife was late back from work. We saw the explosions just as we were parking. Your shot of the pyro was great, it just misses the huge wave of heat that washes over you. Oh, and it started a good little grass fire today. Pretty much missed all the Thunderbirds stuff as well as by then my kids were too tired and we were leaving just as they got airoborne.

Yea, that fire kind of surprised them, you could see some of the performers getting in the planes just in case they needed to move them.

Oh I forgot we went on different days, that could explain it. Yeah the heat from the wall of fire was intense, I want to see a wide shot of that, 200mm doesn't exactly get the full effect hah. We missed some of the thunderbird stuff as well due to a bird deciding it would be fun to get in the way of a jet powered thunderbird haha. So there was a lot of downtime and we decided after about 30 min of nothingness that we were hot and tired and left.

I feel a bit dizzy looking at these photos for a while. Maybe something to do with the five bottles of beer I have just consumed or maybe it is the over sharpening that is doing it?

Photo 4- check your raw and try other white balances- seems a bit off to me or again, it could be the beer talking? In fact re-check them all- could be interesting and an improvement for some could be possible and you may be surprixed? Hick....

Zzzz....

Zzzzz....

Zzzzzzzz....
