Love 'em all – great texture, timing and atmosphere. I like #5 the best though.

Really cool shots. Love 5 as well.

2 is great too.

Nice PRS in 7. (hahaha. I'll get shot soon for pointing out the pRS guitars. But I can't help it. I think they sound and look great.)

I've said it so many times -- and you just keep making it worse: When I grow up, I'm going to move in Finland!

Your pictures are awesome.

Keep 'em coming.

Must be nice to shoot such great bands and great venues, some day I can only wish. #2 is amazing, the halo around the mic, did you add that or is that part of the capture? #5 as well is incredible. I'm with DZ I want to move to Finland.

everytime i see a thread from you, i get psyched...and goddamn if #5 ain't the zenith of this artform we all try our hands at.

jawdropping.

6 is pretty awesome too; can't imagine Rolling Stone passing on something of that caliber.

Yup, I keep coming back to look at these again. I like them better than the set at MusicForums.

Personally, I think # 1, is the most outstanding of the lot... The remainder are real good too...But #1 is front cover material...

Same here. I keep coming back as well.

In my next life I want to be as good as Kalle.

Thanks again :)

About the event: Two-stage three-day open air metal festival held in Tampere, Finland. Rather near the nearest appartment buildings, so the festival ended each day at 10 pm. The larger stage was, well, large-ish :). The maximum capacity was 10,000 persons, they had about 5,000 the first day, 7,000 second, and alomst full at the last day (Heaven and Hell + Dimmu Borgir probably attracted most in the last day).

They were rather strict about not shooting anywhere near the direction of the stages when an artist was performing after the first three songs (from the audience). I could get one wide shot at 17mm (IIRC) from the back of the mass of Heaven and Hell, but was promptly confronted by one of the security guards. I didn't bother to explain that you couldn't probably make out who was performing from the full sized image. Just wanted to get one damn shot that would describe the event. I might post it later.

did you add that or is that part of the capture?

Part of the capture, purely accidental
