I've been invited to ride in the limo with the B&G from the church (after the wedding) to the reception. They are, rightfully, expecting photographs from that road-trip. They have never ridden in a limo so this is a big thing for them and they want something tangible from this mini-event.

This is a new one for me. If thought about the following as possibilities:

  • Head to waist, holding hands
  • Just the hands if I can bring in some element of the car
  • A little cuddle
  • A tender kiss, with and without the veil involved
  • A toast of the bubbly (if available)
The couple are not real conservative and have given me "permission" to photograph any hilarious and/or embarrassing incidents I observe.

Any thoughts you can offer on photograph ideas will be greatly appreciated.

I just usually ride along and shoot what happens and don't stage anything. Right after the wedding they're full of emotion anyhow so the moments will happen on their own if you allow it. Use an ultra wide though... it's really cramped in there. (unless it's just you and the couple)

Lloyd,

Thanks for the response!
Never EVEN CONSIDERED the fact that emotions would be running high and thus things would happen without any "help" from me and I knew I was missing something. That's why I posted the question!

As for the lens - don't know yet about other people in the limo but I figured I would arm one camera with 17-55 and the other with 10-22 and see which would work best.

tuff part is riding in a limo facing backwards. its really easy to get motion sickness cuz the limo has habit of swaying when its moving.

id use wide wide angle lens and try get horizontal and verticals shots.
id try get them looking out the window of the church/ family/friends right before u leave. thats a really nice shot.
another kewl shot is the guest peeking in the limo, tuff exposure but worth a try.

I don't get motion sickness much anymore - got cured (mostly) of this when I was a kid.

These are ideas are good. Thanks.
