Love the bridge shot! Any filters used in the process?

No Filter at all. I did some color saturation in Photoshop... but just a little.... it was a beautiful day to shoot today in NYC!

Well, gang...I'm at a point financially when I'm having to seriously consider unloading my 1D3 and some of my good glass...it's painful to think about, but, well...

Unfortunately i had to unload some glass because of a family emergency, but i kept my 1D3 and my Sigma 50mm 1.4, which i'm considering selling and picking up a Canon 85mm 1.8 to hold me down for a while... i can always buy glass when i get back on my feet.

That's very unfortunate I hope you don't have to...... I'm actually thinking of selling my Lot just to switch to Nikons D700 I love what I get with my 5dc but the FPS and AF system on the 1D is light years better then my 5d so Nikon has what I'm wanting for an affordable price.

the 50mm on the 1D mkIII, for me at least, is not considered as a portraiure lens....

a 70-200 f2.8L (IS, non IS or IS mkII) honestly best all around portrait lens IMO

I also like to use 50mm and 35mm with my 1D3 so having a 24-70 work well for me but it really depends on your style

Hey, thanks for commenting.... I had the 24-70 and a canon 70-200 both 2.8 but due to a family emergency i had to sell both and a Canon 7D....

Right now i can only afford a low end (price wise) lens. I'm thinking an 85mm would help me stay afloat until i get back on my feet and get some more glass...

Equipment can be repurchased....

85 1.8, though I prefer the 135L for tight headshots (more distance between lens and subject makes noses less prominent).

yes i am well aware, this is why i'm trying to get something more "telephoto"...

The 50 is great on a 7D. i might get the 100 f/2.... i saw some used for 350.00

85mm 1.8 should be good. Check out the 85mm 1.8 thread - portrait shots here are amazing.

The pic below is taken with 85mm L version though. Shot @ 1.2 and very minimal PP.
