okay, heres a few more playing around at home. I borrowed my brothers 300mm F4 L and have also been trying out sharpening in CS5.

The only things I used to do in PP was simple light adjustment and auto sharpening so I've been looking through the tutorials on this site and trying some things. Oh, and its also my first time shooting a bird :) (has been cropped quite a bit)

Feel free to post any CC, trying to learn as much as I can :)

All these air craft shots! You guys are going to make me spend another $550 on a tc! Or $8000 on a 400mm. Grrr

In saying that, some very good pictures guys, I've read every page in this thread!

And a friend who is working in a newspaper and i meet him when i shoot the football games keep saying that this 1D MarkIII is s..t, he is not so satisfied with it, and he is using 400mm f2.8Is in the games, i think he is using 300 also and 70-200, so i really don't know if you guys here are happy with mk3 or it is just doing some marketings for this camera and the truth is not there?

@ FlyingPhotog, yeah, funny, if you look real close, your shadow may appear in that pic. ;-)a

@ Trek, shot with 500mm 4.0L

@ Tareq, you know, the 1D III was my first foray into a pro-bodied camera and I bought mine 2nd hand and hoped I made the right decision. I am convinced that the bulk of what you hear complaint wise with the 1D III, and also what I have seen with the 1D IV, are people not fully tweaking or understanding the custom settings. Canon can't come out and call their customers lazy or dumb, but I think they took an unfair bashing when the 1D III was released. I just spent a few hours again reading the Canon Whitepapers when I got my IV to become familiar with the changes between models.

I certainly have a few out of focus shots on occasion, but 98% of the time it was me being off alignment during a panning shot. I have shot a CPS loaner 1D IV (I just bought one this past week) alongside my 1D III at the same events and noticed no difference in focus abilities. Both were superb. As always, it's what is behind the camera and in front of it that is most important.

In fact i love my MKIII, i thought that the AF of MKIII is not that good, but i have almost same problem with MKIIn, but the look from MKIII at high ISO is better than MKIIn, and i wish to have another MKIII or MK4.
