Ahhh, poor Tiger... :(
Clocked in the face by your wife with a driver and then as the driver wrecked your car...

Things just got too carried away I guess.

If there are no pictures of the event using a 1D Mark III it's off topic. :p

Not the best bufflehead action shots but thought it is kind of cool seeing them walking on water like that...

Off Topic?!
Post More Pics!!!

WELL FINE THEN, I WILL DO JUST THAT!

>:'D

Congrats on the new 1DIII, you will love it.

As for Canon fixing the AF issue, it is only in a certain string of serial numbers, mine happens to be one of them. I notticed the problem, but not very much.

I sent it in to Canon to have the mirror box replaced and they sent it back to me underexposing by 3+ stops (More than I could compensate for) and exposing on the cool side, not to mention whoever did it put so much force on the focus screen clip that they chipped all the black paint off and left it dusted all over the focusing screen and mirror.... Boo Canon. :( I hope they take care of me this time.

My 1DIII is at NJ Canon right now so they can fix their screw up. I know it says I am in Sacramento but right now I am in Springfield Mo.
Canon NJ broke it the first time for me, and it went back to them again this time. They told me a senior tech would get it this time, who knows for sure.

This photo is from earlier this year.
I posted some of my last photos on page 39 if you want to see how iso800 looks with no NR, my flickr has full res samples.

Thank you Neo, I'm looking to get a second body and I shoot mostly sports. I've been debating between the mkIII and the 7D. I've read about the focus issues with the mkIII so I was just curious.

No prob :)

I think the way it goes is if it has a blue dot on the box you are safe. If you do a search you can find what the serial number range was.

According to Canon reps the 1D3's were being fixed in the Virginia facility and not the NJ...probably why the issues.

Welp Canon NJ just sent me an e-mail confirming they got it and are fixing it for free blahblahblah.

All I have to say is that I sure as hell hope that it doesnt come back the same, or even worse.

I am going to get on the phone with them in the morning and see what I can do to make sure it comes back 100% fixed.

I miss my 1DIII, even though it underexposed 3-4+ stops and on the cool side with crap for AF still, still I miss it. :(

hi all

new to the CDP forum

just wanted to say that i have taken the plunge after months of reading reports on the Canon 1DmkIII, i pick mine up on monday from a local retailer. They inform me it is a 63xxx serial number, they also have 57xxxx one in stock.so hopefully no issues with the autofocus.

wish me luck !!
