Only way to get a slow enough s/s to blur the rotor blades in full sunlight.

Throw a CPL on your lens. That'll knock the light down.
Or a ND filter.

Got a filter kit on its way. Would have helped if it came sooner haha.

My 1D3 just came back from Canon after it failed at recording the images (it took the pictures but wrote black images on the memory card).

So a few images now it works flawlessly :

TopGun, it IS a beautiful camera when it works. Glad to hear yours is back on track.

Thanks twoshadows I also took the opportunity to have the AF checked, since it is a s/n involved in the AF problems. The previous owner could not tell me if he had the AF checked.

I don't know if it is the "finally back in my hands" effect but I am having less OOF pictures and the autofocus is now dead on in almost all situation, even in low light using the 500 f/4 + x2 TC. They used to be around 5/10%, which does not seem a lot but when doing 2000+ pictures a day you can feel it. Now they are almost all dead on, I've had maybe less than 2% OOF pictures on my last serie which was around 6000 pictures in 3 days.

Anyway, I'm glad my 1D3 has gotten the chance of having a second youth !!!

So yesterday I was taking some pictures of my brothers dog and out of the blue my camera wouldn't take anymore pictures. I looked and it says "Card1 full". Now, I've never even used that card, just had it in just in case. So there are NO pictures on it.. no way it's full. I solved the problem for now by just removing the card. Has anyone else had this happen before and know how to fix it?

What are the specs of the card ? Brand, CF or SD, etc ... did you format it in the camera before using it ?
