I cant seem to get the dust specs on the top right off with air.

Any suggestions?

Its in the camera not the lens

I've got a nasty spec on mine too in a corner that I've tried getting out with air to no avail. I'm holding out until I have a break in shooting when I send the body in on my used warranty for the bad SD slot and hope they give it a sensor clean too. Otherwise, you could bring it in to a trusted local shop/send it to Canon for a sensor clean or get a sensor swab and do it your self.

Try THIS. I use a similar one to clean my camera sensors and lens glass. If you need directions on how to clean your sensor using this, let me know.

Egad I have a hard enough time looking at the sensor let alone use that. I do have a lens pen is this really safe?

Well I was hiking yesterday. Taking pics of petroglyps and I had the 1d III with my big Siggy on my neck strap. I usually snap it to my chest where my water backpack strap comes over so it wont swing. Had just put my T2i back in the bag as i had a smaller lens on it an then decided that tripping over a rock would be a fun thing to do.

When falling on a desert hike several things come to mind.
1) ow this is going to hurt because i am on all rocks
2) OMG is my camera in the bag for sure
3) OH CRAP my 1D is flying through the air with a 5lbs lens on it.
4) I pray there are no cactus where i am about to fall
5) Wait I pray i dont break my 1d and big siggy

I land on my side i miss grabbing the 1d and i hear three very loud bangs as it bounces next to me.

So far so good for both the siggy and the 1d The huge lenscap on the siggy snapped off but it goes on just fine so i think that bore some of the brunt but the way it sounded i dont think the t2i would have survived.

I just got banged up but did not land on a cactus.

Make sure you have the sensor version, not the lens version!

Freaking love this camera body

Even though I love my 5D3 and it has become the primary body for most things I do, I still prefer the 1D3 for stuff like this:

How cropped is that shot? I've been having issues with focusing on herons flying at a distance. Always seems to prefer focusing on the background.

That's one of the most beautiful photos I've ever seen. Love the lines and especially how the reflection of the bird echoes toward the bottom of the photo. Awesome
