anyone shoot their 1DIII with a 200 F2.8L and a 1X4 TC? or the 135 F2L. Does it auto focus? does anyone have any images, thinking of getting the TC so I dont have to cart my 100-400L around all the time

I'm new to the 1D3. I was testing today with with a 200 2.8II and a 2xTCIII. Everything worked great. AF was quick and image quality was good.

nothing special, but it gives you an idea of what to expect. and the quality will be better with a 1.4tc. and this was iso2000

heres a couple from a wedding I did yesterday, it was cold and wet, felt for the bride in a sleeveless dress and pregnant. I was using the 1DIII in Tandem with 5DII, they make a great pair for weddings. these are with the 135 F2

If I remember correctly they were all at f3.2, iso400, and varying shutter speeds with the 70-200 II

Cliff, glad you got the mkIII, verry nice for the first shots with a new camera. Starlings in flight are not that easy. Not all of these cameras had focusing problems, and many of the ones that did have been fixed. Once you get familiar with the camera, spend some time to really microadjust your lenses, every lens and lens+extender will be different.

Good luck with your new camera, I really love mine.
Gary

can anyone answer these questions for me.

will 1DIII auto focus with the canon EF 1X4 attached to 100-400L, 200 F2.8L prime (mark 1) and how much degradation with the 100-400L?
