Sell it to sell it. If you are trying to make money, or trying not to lose what you paid for it you won't win. But if you just sit on it you gain nothing but a paper weight. Sell it for a realistic price and be done with it, after 5 or 6 years you will get over it.

Good advice from you both. I will first try to sell it locally (a Dutch photography forum and the Dutch equivalent of eBay), see how that goes. Thanks very much, Chet and Methodical.

I got a grand, Canadian, two years ago, for mine ... it went to a friend, so I was generous.

Those are good prices. I'd be happy to get that.

I paid $473.80 for mine in great condition just a bit over a year ago. I would expect in the $450 range, if not a bit lower if I sold it right now as the 1div is starting to dip below the $1k level.

Thinking of selling mine, too, Levina. Trying to pare down my gear. As you can see from my gear list, I have too many cameras and not enough time to play with any of them.

Hi Jenn! Oh, I see you still have the 1DIIN! I sold mine after getting the 1DIII and still regret it, if only for sentimental reasons. It was my first 1D body and such a great camera.

I also have a 5D classic and a 40D but they're not worth much now so I'm keeping them. Plus the 5Dc is my only ff camera and still very much in use for anything non-birds. But I am going to sell the 1DIII as it's still worth a fair bit and I could use the money to help fund the new Tamron 150-600mm that I'm planning to buy next Spring!

The 5d still represents. I often wonder if I should had sold mine. MalVeauX really makes the one I sold him shine, I did okay with it.

Yes, I still have the 1DIIN and 5D classic! Just can't give up those two cameras. the photos they produce. There's just something about them.

I want to sell the 1DIII to fund a lens, too. Looking at the 35 f/2 or f/1.4L. Hope you get the lens you want, Levina! :-)
