Hmmm. wonder if Vista is the problem?
It does crash occassionally on Windows XP for me.... but so does IE7.

For "secure link" are you referring to an audio phone call that is secure? Are there other phones that incorporate this?

I'm referring to data transmission, and yes there are phones that do that regarding data.

Of course with no way to remotely disable the phone, not many businesses will take it very seriously regardless of what else it offers.

Hmmm. wonder if Vista is the problem?

Then they shouldn't advertise it as being a release for XP and Vista. Even with it being beta, they should know what platforms it will run on.

Well, I guess we'll have to wait for a couple of more weeks to see what it has. No one, not even the sources you are using, really knows anything about the iPhone. Indeed, it seems there's an active FUD campaing going on. I guess that means a lot of phone makers and service providers are really, really nervous about the iPhone. Besides, its target audience seems to be the consumer market (not that businesses won't use it, too).

Then they shouldn't advertise it as being a release for XP and Vista. Even with it being beta, they should know what platforms it will run on.

Well, it works on some Vista and XP machines, but not others. That seems to suggest that it's machine-dependent and not OS-dependent.

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

Avoid this program. Apple apparently doesn't really have a clue how to write a secure program:

Nothing to avoid. may as well avoid Windows in it's entirety then , NO?

No doubt. These Safari vulnerabilities (which have already been fixed by Apple) were attributed to David Maynor, who is famous for announcing to the world that he had broken into a Mac wirelessly. A few days later he had to fess up to his deception; he used a third-party wireless card that had a vulnerability in it. He sure didn't break in through Apple's AirPort card. This guy is almost as anti-Mac as Paul Thurrott; except Thurrott, at least, is willing to admit that OS X is more secure than XP.

Well, I guess we'll have to wait for a couple of more weeks to see what it has. No one, not even the sources you are using, really knows anything about the iPhone.

We know what has been released, and that the AT&T Edge network it will run over is slower than other available options. My source for that is Apple themselves. ;)

Indeed, it seems there's an active FUD campaing going on. I guess that means a lot of phone makers and service providers are really, really nervous about the iPhone.

RIM/Blackberry have very little to worry about, as the Blackberry market is well integrated with businesses. Some smaller companies may, but not that camp.

For personal use, the iPhone will do well I imagine. I've said that before. For business use, it'll control very little of the market and be a blip on the radar. I'm sure it'll be hyped up at first especially by the Mac fanboys, but a year after the fact you won't find them being used as a corporate solution.

I love fanboy threads.

I think if I spend much more time in here I might develop a habit for Grape Flavor-Aid and Jonestown nostalgia...

Unfortuantely, that wasn't my intent.

It never is. But some things are beyond control.

OK, I think the OP got the answer he was looking for. So, since this thread has gone way off topic, I'm going to close it.
