A couple more from a concert last month. Your criticism and comment appreciated.

First one isn't sharp & has a distracting BG.
Second is a nice moment, but the guy in the BG is distracting as well. I'ld also correct the blown highlights on his arm a bit.

Is #1 a crop? It's a pity I can't see your exif, but running #1 through Noise Ninja and then sharpening wouldn't do any harm.

#2 would be a great shot if not for the bass player in the background; you outta ask him to move out of shot next time;)

This is a digital world. You could always air brush the bass player out.

What Bass Player? haaha

Thanks for your comments. First time actually trying major changes in PhotoShop. I only have PS Elements that came with camera.

Any direction on how to fix the blown highlight on his arm, and the shadow on his chin?
Thanks again, all of you.

If you shot raw it's fairly easy: Convert the file once more through ACR (or another raw converter. Most will do, except DPP which is crap at recovering highlights.)
In ACR use down to -1,8 EC (more doesn't do much). Pressing the Alt key while moving the exposure slider gives you a 'blowout preview'. Adjust till there is no more clipping, or you adjusting further doesn't remove more. (around -1.8 )
You'll have a very dark file.

Copy-paste that on top of your original.
Now for the fun part: I use this method: QT tutorial (external link), but I don't know if that will work in Elements. You could use a mask and use an airbrush to only reveal the blown out parts. (I think Elements does layer masks?). Alternatively, erase everything but the blown out parts. Then, if the effect is too much, adjust the opacity of the top layer.

If you shot jpg, you are outta luck.

Thanks for the direction Rene'. I did shoot in RAW, but just my luck I do use DPP  I also have RAW Shooters Essentials (formerly Pixmantec), now Adobe.

I will play around with it, and post my results, good or not so good. I am also going to try and fix my Eric Burdon photo with the lens flare.
Thanks again

Back to square one........

Just picked up my MACBOOK PRO and everything is new. After working on PC machines all my life, I have some learning to do!

I reviewed your color management post Rene' with my Dell and Mac side by side and cannot believe the differences. I also reviewed some of my picture posts, and can see some things I didn't see before......
