Thanks for the direction Rene'. I did shoot in RAW, but just my luck I do use DPP

Pressing the Alt key while moving the exposure slider gives you a 'blowout preview'. Adjust till there is no more clipping, or you adjusting further doesn't remove more. (around -1.8 ) You'll have a very dark file. Copy-paste that on top of your original. Now for the fun part: I use this method: QT tutorial If you shot jpg, you are outta luck. Back to square one........
