Hi first post in the bird section.

My wife is thinking of doing her PhD on NZ Falcons (Bio-control) next year. We went up to check out her prospective work environment/supervisors etc about a month ago.

I am a real newb at wildlife/nature with a wedding/portrait background...so some "gentle" c&c please. Thanks, Sammy

70-200L f4 @ ISO400 - uh-hmm...Aperture Priority :o - ok I was fair packing myself when they were swoopin' so I didn't shoot manual. :)

Love that last one. Images are a bit small to evaluate very well.
#2 has a difficult background.

Thanks for the feedback guys. We were amongst a glade of pines and they were tricky little buggers to get in the open so yeah I agree, the background in #2 is very distracting.

Thanks again.

Here's another with the tracking antenna exposed.

I'm using centre focus point AI-servo but as you might see, I've mis-focussed and the tail is slightly sharper.

Here's a question: If using 1d series in this particular shot, would you be inclined to use 45AF points or keep it on centre focus point only? And...is the af focus of the MK2n NOTICEABLY quicker than the 30D?

Thanks in advance.
