Well, my 20d is dying a slow death...The camera store guy said its something bad with the sensor, and it would cost as much as its worth to get it fixed. I've been shooting alot lately with my vintage yashica mat 124g while I decide on what camera will replace the dead one...Do I go crazy and get a 5d, or go with the 30d. Why are those 5ds so expensive?
Anyways, any opinions on these? I really like using this yashica camera.

Lightly used 5D ... you won't regret it :)

I'm liking #1 ... I'm a sucker for backlit shots, especially ones with L lenses and lip rings in them.

The first feels like it could use some fill flash, just a little too dark for my taste, the second I like, and the third I'm afraid just doesn't do anything for me.

What camera depends on two things, the type of images you shoot and your budget. My take is that the 5D is great for portraits and landscapes and many things like that, the 30D is a bit better for sports and nature because of the FPS rate, of course the 1D series tries to do it all, but even it had models and marks etc depending on your use of it. I just bite the bullet and went for the mark III myself and am working hard to learn it.

Love the first shot. Wonderful colors. Has a very timeless feel to it.

If you like MF I reckon you'll love the full frame 5D. Don't even think about a 1.6x crop body.

Thanks for the comments everyone, I really like shooting with the Yashica mat. You can see a whole little gallery Here. (external link)
I'm really thinking of the 5d. Maybe a used one...But for that much cash, I don't want to risk anything going wrong with a second hand one. What do you think the best price used would be? $2,000?

Anyways.
TheGreatDivorce - Your site is awesome! You have some serious skills! You're one of those people you click on their site and go "Holy Crap!"

Spam - That is probably the best comment I've ever received! What kind of camera did you get? I see a ton of cool old stuff on your Flickr.

Mizouse- Medium format is supposedly a higher image quality, My reason is I just like playing with old cameras and film.

AeroSmith - You're right about the full frame. I was used to shooting with film, and when I got my 20D, I didn't know about the crop factor and was pretty bummed about the tiny viewfinder.
