ok, here's a single pic, and i am curious as to the opinions of it...i got more than enough shots w/ 'proper' exposure, but even though this was far underexposed (i think i pushed it at least 4 stops in ACR), i liked the framing/composition enough to try and save it, and i also liked the murky, grainy quality which subsequently revealed itself.

i was surprised not to see you there...in fact, even though it was packed, there were only a couple of punters shooting from the crowd, and i was the only one w/ a pass (the pit was ferocious...i had to leave from the front area after two songs because i was getting crushed).

no comments on my shot? ;)

I can never shoot mondays. I have a contract engineering job and a radio show monday nights.

That show shows how canon's "already processed for noise in the camera" images start to breakdown once you try to push them. granted nikon's have noise and when you push them, they get more noise. Personally, I would have likes to have seen the other hand, but I wasn't at the show so what do I know.

I think the banding is a bit much. You could maybe try adding some grain to even out the banding...might work. Anyway, other than the banding I think the shot works, given the type of music that they play.
My wife just saw them in Austin not too long ago...she said it was a pretty good time.

drew, good call on the banding...didn't see that at first.

james, that's fine - i wasn't looking for validation, just curious what people thought. they play a very herky-jerky, spasmodic, rapid version of noise/hardcore, w/ loads of energy. i'll get some proper shots up in a few days if i'm lucky; i'm behind PP on at least 4 shoots now, and i've got one tonight and one tomorrow...

How is it when you look at other photographers shots with noise (Excluding Rene as he is the master at adding etc Noise) as in just a little bit at noise, the shot looks fine, but when you get a shot with noise your self you worry about the noise being to much? that make sense to anyone else apart from me lol?
Narlus - i shall check them out from your description of there music lol

Cheers
