My wife just surprised me with tickets to the Brittish Grand Prix.

Will I be allowed to use my 300 2.8 lens in the stands?

We are in the "Bridge" section. Any tips?

Thanks

I've never encountered problems with using camera gear at Silverstone.

Bridge is very fast: 160-180mph for the F1 boys, it's a short-ish squirt out of a quick chicane. It will probably be flat in Qualifying 2, but a lift other times. There is actually a bridge there (hence the name), and the track dips under the bridge. Consequently, your panning shots may be restricted due to the presence of the bridge.

Take something shorter as well.

It's a reasonably short walk round to the merchandising places and a fairly decent bar, which is opposite the start/finish straight. Access is much better now that the roads have been sorted, but traffic will still be busy. Make sure you get there in time for the GP2 race on the Sunday morning, it's always a cracker.
