what part of the photograph?

For clouds... and probably clouds only... maybe sky? I've made a duplicate layer, add a touch of gaussin blur, then mask away everything but the sky. If you stay conservative it usually helps alot.

Post a sample pic of bad noise!!!

A 100% crop - not a downsize that will hide the noise.

Obviously a sample is always a benefit when you are asking for assistance here. What is bad to one, may not be so devastating to others.

I have been a user of Neat Image for quite awhile and it has always done a good job. I recently got a copy of Nik Sharpener and this is quite a little tool with many options. You have the opportunity to apply to the image as a whole or paint in the sharpening to the areas that need it more than others.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

Try the free community edition of NoiseWare. I have found this to remove the toughest noise that Neat Image and Noise Ninja will not remove. By tough noise, I mean in an image that is two stops underexposed. In a properly exposed photo at 3200 ISO, any noise that is bothersome, NN can handle it well. But at 1 or 2 stops underexposed from this, NW is better. I recently took some pictures in a church setting with moving subjects where flash was not allowed. At 125th and f4(all lens would open) I was effectively shooting at 12800 ISO. While not the best imageby any means, NW did pretty good considering. At least there is a picture that printed at 4X6 is OK.

Is this out of the camera? It looks like it is very underexposed, which creates the worst kind of noise.

yes its sooc. its not a very good camera but the only one I had to use inside the concert, they wouldnt let me take my 30D in:( so I had no choice. the lighting wasnt very good plus the smoke machine let out to much smoke and that didnt help

I can deal with the second one but just need to know what to do with the other people in the background so they dont stand out so much.

No problem Teri, but, the sun is going down and I need to catch me some Ospreys...I will post the procedures, as best as I can, later when I get back! Sorry!
